A tile slips in a gale, a damp patch spreads across a bedroom ceiling, or a leak that has been patched twice comes back with the next heavy rain. That is when people ring us. Every repair starts with a free quote, and we fix the fault properly rather than patching over it.
BES Roofing is run by Josh, based at Blue Barns Business Park in Ardleigh, just outside Colchester. We have been trading for more than 15 years and we are fully insured.
What we repair
- Slipped, cracked and missing tiles, refixed or replaced to match the existing roof
- Storm damage, made safe first, then repaired properly
- Persistent leaks, including the ones earlier patch repairs have not fixed
- Ridge and hip work where the mortar has failed or ridge tiles have worked loose

Finding the fault
A repair only holds if it fixes the actual fault, and water rarely shows up where it gets in. Rain can enter at a ridge and stain a ceiling two rooms away. When the source is not obvious from the roof, we use Electronic Leak Detection to trace it electronically before lifting anything. That means one accurate repair instead of repeated guesses.
How we work
Tell us what you have noticed and we will come and look at the roof, then give you a free quote for the fix. If it needs one tile, that is what we quote for. If the covering is at the end of its life, we will say so and quote separately for a re-roof: see Pitched Roofing and Flat Roofing.
We turn up when we say we will and leave the site tidy. One customer in Colchester CO2 put it like this after we repaired their loose tiles in January 2023:
